In Joliet, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across Illinois vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.

No hours are on file. If you plan a visit, phone first or check the Google Maps link on this page for the latest times. You can reach American Motorsports at (815) 730-0563; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

Customers rate it 5.0 out of 5 on Google across 40 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded auto repair shops in Joliet.

Joliet is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Joliet follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Best shop in Joliet and in northern Illinois for that matter. Bruce is a master mechanic, honest, trustworthy, knowledgeable and most importantly ethical. The guy knows his cars and his passion for the automotive industry (especially Corvettes) combined with his experience makes this shop a diamond in the rough. Thank for treating your customers right, being thorough, and offering a great quality shop experience!

Incredibly trustworthy - took the time to fully explain the work that needed done on my car to me. Would 100% recommend, none of it was scammy. He did great work for a great price and had a really approachable energy about it the entire time. Best mechanic I've been to in a long time!

Bruce is not only a great mechanic but also an extremely fair and nice man! I have sent friends to him and they can't get over the fantastic experience they had with their whole family going there. Can't go wrong having your vehicle repaired at his business. Brad Donley.

I’ve been bringing my vehicles to American Motorsports for the past ten years. When I moved to the area in 2015, I was concerned about finding a mechanic who was not only skilled but also honest and fair. Bruce quickly proved to be the gold standard—an exceptional mechanic with deep expertise in virtually every type of car. Beyond his technical knowledge, he is consistently kind, professional, and trustworthy. It’s rare to find a business run with such integrity, and I have never once been disappointed.

Bruce at America Motorsports is the absolute best. He has always done a great job with any car repair we need, and it has always been clear that he focuses on what is best for his customers. He is honest and thorough - and he has saved me and my family a ton of money by keeping our cars safe and on the road for years and miles beyond their expected life span.
